Hillary: get it over with

posted Sunday, 3 December 2006
Quoting from this site:

WASHINGTON (AP) - Democratic jockeying for the White House in 2008 intensified on Sunday with Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh taking the first official step toward a run and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton gauging support among fellow New York lawmakers.

Bayh said [blah, blah, blah, etcetera']

Clinton, who easily won re-election to a second term on Nov. 7, "is reaching out to her colleagues in the New York delegation and asking for their advice and counsel and their support if she decides to make a run," a top adviser, Howard Wolfson, told The Associated Press. He noted that Clinton had said she would begin actively considering a run after the election. "That process has begun," Wolfson said. He said he did not know when she might make a decision or set up an exploratory committee.

...and so on in that vein, for nine more paragraphs.

Message to Hillary: this political cock-teasing is a bore, and insulting to the American public. Everyone KNOWS you are going to run. It was obvious from the very first time you promised America that you were NEVER going to run for President. Your being a member of the clan Clinton, we universally knew you were telling the exact opposite of the truth.

The "will Hillary run?" issue reminds me in a certain way of that entire season of Ellen Degeneres' sitcom, leading up to the episode in which she outed herself. Except not nearly as entertaining. By comparison, Ellen Degeneres seems brighter, less devious, and works with better script writers.

It's the worst kept secret since Tiny Tim married Miss Vicky on the Johnny Carson show. There's nothing to do but sit back and watch the train wreck unfold.

Bayh would make a terrific candidate for the Democrats, but the activist base and the 527s would never let him win the nomination. Pity.
