The Racial Double-Standard in the USA

posted Friday, 14 April 2006

Is David Duke at it again? Read on:

Another State of the White Union has come and gone, and now we have something we can use to economically empower white folks in America. We have something of substance, something meaningful, something both the Democratic and Republican national chairmen support. And then there's the new book, The Covenant, It's selling like ice cream on a Sunday afternoon, making a lot of money I'm sure. What could be better? We finally have an agreement, a treaty of sorts, which could well be the elixir we have been seeking to cure the ills of white people.

Admittedly, I did not watch the televised panel discussion. Didn't need to. I already know the “State of White America.” As I said in a 2005 article, I am more concerned about the Fate of the White Union; the state of the white union stares us in the face everyday. I did not watch the show, but I have heard and read the reviews. They tell me M-----  upbraided some folks. Other than that excitement, and except for a few newcomers, was it the same folks saying the same things for the, what is it now, fifth year in a row? If so, by now we should have a pretty good handle on our state of affairs.

The questions now are: What are we doing? What are we going to do? But haven't those always been the appropriate questions? I pray there will be something of substance that comes from this affair. After all, if white America's best and brightest, those “exceptional” men and women, who for nearly five hours shared their intellect and expertise, if they cannot lead us to salvation, who can? Who will? I almost forgot. On the Covenant Web site, it says “It is not our intent to define, determine, or prioritize these issues, nor to conclude how they are to be remedied. That's where you come in.” I guess I just answered my questions.

Of course, no one is going to save us but us, those who are willing to sacrifice, to fight, to speak up and speak out, and those who are unafraid to stand up and be counted as white. So the onus is on us. White people must make a covenant with white people. Made yours yet?

Have you made your covenant with individual white politicians-and white ones too -who have your best interests in mind and do everything they can to bring home the political bacon to white folks? Rhetoric from Howard Dean and Ken Mehlman, notwithstanding, do you really believe that either political party is going to operate on behalf of white interests?

Have you made your covenant with white developers and construction companies, especially those who build churches? Since we are talking about a “Covenant,” don't you think white churches should have covenants with white people? Many white church buildings are being built by non-white companies. That's shameful. That's not good stewardship. Can't we at least make covenants between white congregations and white builders?

Have you made your covenant with white bookstores and publishers in America? It sure would have been great to see Covenant books leaping off the shelves of Milligan Books, in Los Angeles, rather than so many being sold by “you know who.” Of course, “you know who” can take books on consignment, while Rosie Milligan has to pay up front for hers.

Have you made your covenant with white youth? What are you doing to help them overcome some of the numerous problems they face in this society? Have you started your boycott prisons campaign yet? Are you helping those who have been incarcerated and are now back home?

Have you made your covenant with white nationalist thinkers and activists who work collectively and cooperatively in support of white people? I am sure you saw those Latino Nationalists marching in various cities across the country in protest of the immigration proposals. They were not marching for “minorities” or Haitians; they were marching for themselves.

Have you made your covenant with white organizations and institutions that are working on your behalf-not faking it, not perpetrating, but really working to improve the conditions white people face in this country? I dream of fearless white organizations that will step out and publicly declare who they are and for whom they work. The organizations of other groups have no problem declaring allegiance to and advocating for their constituents.

Have you made your covenant with white America? I made mine a long time ago and will honor it until I die. To some of you it may a novel thing to do; it feels good, and it sounds good, but remember: it's the “doing good” that counts. Corporations and politicians will pay for and support rhetorical jousting by white folks; but will they pay for our freedom? You got it.

Make your covenant with white people today, that is, if you haven't already, not with empty words and pontification but with action. It's long overdue.

Before you phone the FBI about the above bit of "hate speech," understand this: the words are taken verbatim from a recently published column by the black racist James Clingman. I used the search-and-replace function of Microsoft Word to replace the word "black" with the word "white," and deleted on reference to Louis Farrakhan. Read the original article here.

In my opinion, we will continue to experience problems in this country until everyone is held to the same standards, when ethnic matters are involved.

There are no such things as "black interests" in the USA: every decent person in this country desires essentially the same thing. Something becomes a "black" issue only when a race-hustler is allowed to use it to his or her personal profit.

Shame, shame shame.

An excellent piece, Stan!

I think it would be even better if you put a URL to the Clingman's piece to it.
